Bedford resident Bill Lavezzi is a candidate for the District 11 position on Ohio’s State Board of Education, which will be elected on November 8, 2016.
Bill began his education career teaching English and drama at Warrensville Heights High School. He finished his teaching career at Aurora High School and Harmon Middle School in Aurora, teaching English, drama, and psychology. During his employment as a teacher, Lavezzi served as president of the Warrensville, Aurora, and North Eastern Ohio Education Associations and on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Education Association.
On retirement from active teaching, Bill began serving as Executive Director of the North Eastern Ohio Education Association, where he coordinates NEOEA Day and the rest of NEOEA’s program of professional development for educators.
He and his wife Lynn celebrated their 45th anniversary in September. Their three children graduated from Bedford High School, and their oldest child is a teacher in the Bedford City School District.
Bill is a member of the Executive Committee of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party, Secretary of the Northeastern Ohio chapter of the Labor and Employment Relations Association, Treasurer of the United Labor Agency, member of the National Association of Parliamentarians, and a cantor and organist at the Church of the Resurrection in Solon.
