On the Trail

My request for this week: events. As we start planning out the months ahead, it would be good to be scheduling events that I should plan to attend. So if you have one, email me it to me at bill4board@lavezzi.us, and I’ll see if I can schedule it in.

My friends who have run for this position in other districts generally report that their campaigns started pretty late–generally after Labor Day in the year of the election. But most of District 11 is located in Cuyahoga County, and we do things differently here: the campaign has been going pretty steadily since last Labor Day!

The State Board of Education is nonpartisan, but that’s like saying that Big Ten football players are amateurs: technically true, but maybe not accurate in a meaningful sense. I am visiting a lot of area Democratic clubs, and some of my supporters joined me at the Cuyahoga County Democratic Dinner on May 15 to make and renew as many contacts as possible. And I’m visiting as many area Democratic clubs as I can.

The scheduling is getting complicated enough that I’m making my campaign events public and putting a calendar page on the website. You’ll see the new calendar link on the left side of the page. (Location and style may vary: I’m experimenting.)
